The offer applies to current students enrolled at degree-granting universities in the United States or Canada. The student must also reside in the United States or Canada when claiming the offer.
OpenAI limits the promotion to one credit offer per student. A university email supports the verification process, but final eligibility depends on successful verification through the official flow.
The confirmed countries are the United States and Canada. Students studying remotely from another country or enrolled at an institution outside those locations should not assume the offer will apply.
Because location is checked at claim time, a qualifying school name alone is not enough. Read the live country requirements before sending verification information.
Start from OpenAI's Codex student page, sign in to the personal ChatGPT account you plan to keep and complete the SheerID flow. OpenAI says the account itself does not need to use a school email, although the university email is used during student verification.
If an account has multiple workspaces, the credits are added to the personal workspace associated with the verification. The offer cannot be assumed to transfer to a different account after the verification limit has been used.
